THE FEED

Released Dimmer today. It's about leaving a city, and the city knows.

Dimmer is a live record. One show, one night, two microphones. Every mistake is real.

Some news. Dimmer will be out in the spring, on cassette and download, in a run of two hundred. I recorded it across eleven evenings in a rented storage unit with a space heater and a thermos. The cover is a photograph my grandmother took in 1971, and she has approved it by telephone.

Spent the morning mic'ing a radiator. Don't ask.

Reading a book about the history of the cassette. Did you know the inventor wanted it to be a dictation tool? Imagine.

Thanks to the sound engineer in Cologne who saved the set when the amp died.
